Pinterest is my addiction. Home decor is my addiction. Pinterest and home decor is my rehab. Like legit, when I’m feeling down, I pin things to “My Barbie Dream Home” board.
Moving into a new place is always fun, and decorating is just icing on the cake. My inspiration for my apartment started as “country chic”, but when I realized I was going to be living in an apartment in Los Angeles, instead of a cute home with a wrap around porch in Alabama, I had to change my decor up a bit. I kept the light colored theme [whites, greys, blush tones, silver, all very light neutrals], but had to modernize the look to fit the city feel of the apartment. All of this came together to be quite a “pinterest-y chic”.
Picture updates of my place will be coming once things get more settled, but in the meantime I’ll be posting some pin-spiration.
As you can tell, I like the look of minimalistic stuff. If that makes sense. I like the look of having a lot and having your home be lived in, but I like the stuff you have to look basic and simple. That probably confused you even more. But that’s the look I’m aiming for. Currently my home looks basic and simple, but that’s because it is. It’s a first apartment-aka empty and sad looking. I’m going to HomeGoods tomorrow [good deals and home decor, I love it]. To further achieve my “pinterest chic” look, I want to get more pillows [I’m a sucker for pillows and snuggly blankets], picture frames or canvases, and if I can find it, I want an armchair to go in the corner of my room. I’ve always wanted to have real seating in my room, and now I finally have the room to [let’s just see if it’ll fit in my budget].
That’s it for now, but don’t worry- I’m a Pinterest lover so I will definitely be doing more [Pin]spiration posts, as well as more home decor related posts. I want this blog to be a little bit of everything [or a lot bit of everything].
